Direct Sales Motivation
OK, so you asked for it and we are delivering the Bookings University but do you have the motivation and willingness to take action? As a result of some of the survey responses we are adding a unit to the University on “lack of motivation” and “willingness to get out of your comfort zone”.
Unfortunately, if you are not motivated enough to sign up and show up, there is not much I can do for you!
The following graph represents the answers to this question on the survey:
Which best describes your situation regarding finding business/bookings?
- I don’t know where to find business
- I don’t have skills to date shows
- I am not motivated to find business
- I am afraid to get out of my “comfort zone”
While I expected 26.3% of the responders to not know where to find business it was a surprise to hear that 14.7% were not motivated to find business!
Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone
It was no surprise that 23% of consultants felt that they lacked skills but what I did not know was that 35.5% were afraid to step out of their comfort zone!
Other Home Party Bookings Issues
While most of the other home party plan bookings issues were fairly predictable some comments were a surprise for me. It is impossible to keep this a class on BOOKINGS and include all of the requests.
These are 3 home party bookings training topics that were requested by enough people to justify inclusion in the Bookings University:
- Lead generation in Facebook.
- Getting more people to your online website/SEO.
- Using newsletters more effectively
Direct Sales Training Topics
These direct sales training topics will NOT be included but were in fact requested:
- It would be great if the articles and training were in Spanish! (LOL – now you are stretching me!!)
- Transcription of all the audio and video training into text is not compatible with the bigger issue of: CHEAP!
- Getting people to buy with total abandon is a great topic, but will not include it here!
- Host coaching is not going to be a part of the training as we cannot run the University all year!
- How to set up a blog is outside the scope of this class.
- Software solutions for party plan: while we may talk a bit about this it will be too much to include in depth.

There is not one specific technique that is a magic pill but a combination of many! Regarding your workshop events, you should do everything to insure a great attendance that you would do in coaching a host….

I need help finding business. I am motivated and I am willing to get out
of my comfort zone. I have had several crop/workshop but have not
had many show up and I have asked many to host a party but have
not had any success.

This is another goal for 2013.. I need to step out of my comfort zone to boost bookings! I have a relatively healthy calendar in general, but there is always room for improvement!
I am afraid of getting out my comfort zone…2013 is time to do that!
The comfort zone is a biggie for me and something I will be focusing on in 2013. Thanks for the motivation Deb.
I keep trying to implement just one 1 more thing to my list. Getting out of my comfort zone has been a challenge, but actually one that is so very important. It does get easier I will have to admit. I try to think of it as a “game” – get back to that time in my life where we looked forward to something new.
There really are unlimited bookings out there so take the class and take action!!

Hi Gabriela, I wish I could do it in Spanish, The thing is that even to get it transcribed from the audios to text in English would make me have to charge alot more if I included the transcribed version. Since I don’t speak Spanish (a few words maybe) then that would also make it cost prohibitive.
Not sure if it was you who asked but actually it was mentioned 2 times now.
Regarding Millie’s question, the videos will be available for replay in the Free Version for a few weeks and the full version to rolls out after class #4 to anyone who completes them all.
Hi, Thanks Deb for this new University. I am a native spanish from Argentina, and it would be great to have some Spanish contents, but I know, it takes a lot of time and resources; so, no problem! It´s great your web, the articles, the videos, are really good…So, may be in the future I will go on your way to do something like you do, because in my country it doesn´t exist this culture of direct selling, like trainings, conferences, leaders form different companies teaching to someone…

Will there be recordings of the Booking University. I broke my right wrist and is very dificult to write with my left hand, since I’m right handed.
