Your Direct Sales Business Is A Tree!

Direct Sales Business TreeYou should think about your direct sales business as a tree. When you take a walk around your neighborhood look at the big trees. Consider every branch a branch of your business. It may start with one show, then branch out into more and more shows and customers.

Consider each big tree you look at and realize that for every branch above ground there is a root below ground to keep the tree stable.

The law of gravity demands it! What goes up MUST go down! Can you visualize the massive root system under a tree of this size?

WOW! Think about it! Like this tree (picture taken near the Pennsylvania monument in Gettysburg, PA) all trees including your business tree have a root system that is as deep and wide under ground as it is above!

You may be thinking “how does this apply to my business?”

Each root in your business tree is a lead generation system which grows above ground into a stream of income. A direct sales business tree should have many lead generation systems as a solid foundation (root system) so it can grow tall and strong (branches) to create income.

Marketing At Chamber Networking Events

In the direct sales industry, everyone is looking for new ways to market and promote her or his business. It is a very competitive market and any small edge can help your business grow and thrive.

One method of marketing your direct sales business that is often overlooked is networking through Chamber of Commerce events. There are a wide variety of Chamber events and some do not require membership so think (look) outside the box.

Networking At Chamber MixersMany areas have smaller Chamber organizations. If you live near a large city a little investigation will turn up the main Chambers but also smaller ones such as the Latino Chamber Of Commerce or the Spanish American Chamber or the African American Chamber of Commerce.

These groups would love to network with you as well and often have lower membership fees. They are not restricted to those who fit the profile but are open to all who support them.

Networking At Chamber Mixers

Networking events are a great way to connect with other entrepreneurs and business people. One of the best venues for these types of events is the Chamber of Commerce mixer. These events can include breakfasts, lunches, dinners, happy hours, golf events, and guest speakers. Some Chambers even have structured networking events designed for you to network and meet many new business contacts. These are networking opportunities are a great way to rub elbows with other business leaders in your area.

Find Business At Chamber Events

Yes, you have to escape the office or get off your couch and go out to experience one of these events. You may discover how fun and rewarding these affairs can be. If you don’t attend, you won’t make new contacts. The more you attend, the more new contacts you’ll make – it’s as simple as that!

When you go to these events, be sure to have a good supply of business cards. Make sure to hand the cards out frequently as they are a great form of advertising. The direct sales business is fueled by contacts and your business card is one of the fuel lines that keeps your business thriving. You may want to give each person you meet a few cards so they can refer you to others they meet.

You will probably receive as many business cards as you hand out. Be sure to keep these; set aside a place in your office. These cards are potential contacts and can be used to grow your business and find new bookings and recruits.

Network Marketing

When you attend Chamber of Commerce events, one of the principal reasons you are there is to promote your direct sales business. Conversations are usually easy to initiate as most people are there to meet new contacts and referrals.

Greet, meet, and speak!

It is a perfect place to practice the direct sales 10 Second Rule!

Don’t forget to follow up. Making contact after the event can be an important part of the process. You don’t need to sell or be pushy; a follow up letter, e-mail, or phone call serves as a nice personal reminder to those you met.

Growing your business through Chamber of Commerce events is a proven winner. Though many direct sales consultants overlook this marketing method, it is an excellent way to become more well-known in your community and meet others with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Direct Sales Consultants Want More Business!

We launched the CashFlowShow direct sales Game in May and the first teams set some major bars of achievement that up until this week have been the high game scores.

This week after 3 months of competition the records were broken in the Finding Business Game by Barbara Harkness.

Direct Sales Just Jewelry Consultant Sets New Record

Just Jewelry, Barb HarknessDirect sales consultant and Future Team Leader for Just Jewelry, Barbara Harkness shattered the standing records set by Mandy Hull and Jenn Monterrozzo for the CashFlowShow Finding Business Game in May.

When a player plays a game they participate in an e-learning module, then based on the suggested business success tips and actions, they record the activity on their score card which accumulates points.

Barb credits the accountability that the game provides as a key influence in the new landscape of her business.

Barbara was our special guest on the CashFlowShow – Direct Sales Radio this past Wednesday (9/14). Listen as as she shares how she has incorporated the skills she learned in the Finding Business Game into her business.

Barb is a Future Team Leader with Just Jewelry. She joined the company a little over two years ago when she relocated to a small town in west Texas and decided to go to work for herself instead of trying to find a job. Having participated in other businesses prior to Just Jewelry, Barbara really began to achieve some successes when she started to really focus on her business.

She was introduced to the CashFlowShow Game by her upline, Jolyn Adang. Since she joined she has focused on doing the activities taught in the e-leaning and has started looking at strangers as the best source for business. She is filling her calendar with vendor events, chamber mixers and offering herself as a workshop presenter to small groups. Her goal was a promotion to Team Leader by the end of September.  She then set her sights on Senior Team Leader and earning the incentive trip offered by Just Jewelry in 2011.
