Creates Curiosity

  1. Legitimate Valid Business Reason
  2. Creates Curiosity
  3. Creates a Sense of Urgency
  4. It Is Personalized

It is important to have a well scripted message, and just winging it doesn’t usually work. Check out Jeff’s scripting tool here.

Technology Impacts Home Business Sales Consultants

One of the advantages of living in the 21st century is technology. This is a double-edged sword — it can be a good thing, and it can be a bad thing. Check out the previous post on the impacts of technology on communication in home businesses. Click Here

Create Voice Mail Scripts - Don’t Let Technology Hold You Back

  • Never open the door to cancellations by using the word cancel.
  • Always assume that it is a done deal. (whatever IT is)
  • Never use vague or negative word choices such as: If, might, could, should, worried, wondering
  • Replace those words with positive words and phrases: when, do, will.
  • Always smile, stand up and be excited.
  • Take joint responsibility by using phrases like: “When we (send out the invitations, invite 40 people, etc.)”, “Our goal is______”.

Taking the time to create powerful positive voice mail messages will open the door for future connections and assist in better home business communications. When you leave no message, you will never connect. When you leave a powerful message, you have a much better chance of getting a return call.

3 Steps On How To Start A Website

June 25th, 2008 . by Deb Bixler

Start A Home Business Blog Website

All companies should take advantage of the networking available on the internet, direct sales professionals included. I have received many inquiries lately on how to start an online presence or a blog. When I started my home business, I did not even own a computer and did not use one at work much either. Today, I can build a website and am darn close to being a search engine expert. It is a process, and like any other process, the more you work at it, the more you learn. At first it was very slow. If I had I known then what I know today, my business would have skyrocketed. The ongoing changes and advancements in technology have created so many exciting opportunities for direct sellers and party plan professionals. The internet allows you to branch out and no longer limits your business to friends, family and neighbors. Even if you are a total computer/web novice like I was, just take small steps one-day-at-a-time and before you know it, you will be writing code!

Start A Free Website

  1. Set Up A Personal Website: It is easy to start your own website. Your company probably has an affiliate site in your name. You can still set up your own. When you create an online presence by having a website highlighting your “theme” or services, it will enhance your personal affiliate site as well. One way to get started on a website for free is at Wordpress. It is a very user-friendly, blogging format that anyone can use. (really, anyone!) My blogs are Wordpress. The free version is a good place to start. You can upgrade later. Blogging is a good way to develop traffic to your site and become a presence online and there are hundreds of free theme templates to choose from. Literally, in an evening you could have your site up and running.
  2. Get Your Own Domain: The Word Press URL will be something nutty, like wordpress.com/alice234-h and you will not want to tell that to people, so buy a domain name that is unique to you. Something like: AliceIsCool.com It is only about $10 year and you can then forward it into your free Wordpress blog. Later when you are ready to host a site, you already have the traffic and unique name.
  3. Blog: On a regular basis, post articles on your blog on your topic. If you sell food storage containers, your blog focus may be on organizing your kitchen, on food, or any/or all other related topics. If you sell cosmetics, the focus of your blog is to develop a credible online presence as an expert who is there to answer any makeup question that is ever Googled. These articles need to be put up consistently, but not a lot at once. Like maybe one or two a week forever. After you have a good archive, you can cut back a bit.

• Word Press Blog Service FREE : http://wordpress.com/

• Buy a domain very economically at GoDaddy on the Business Resources Page

This is a good start. In the coming months I will post some other articles on how to get traffic to your site and start collecting a data base. The first step is to get started! One small step for you and one giant step for your business. After all, the world wide web is the largest network marketing organization in the world. Create A Professional E-Book

June 16th, 2007 . by Deb Bixler

How do you make an e-book? Why do you even want an e-book? Or better yet….. What is an e-book?

Let’s take those questions in reverse…..

What Is An E-Book?

An e-book is an electronic book or a document which is sent over the internet in a format that is stable so that it will not change, cannot be changed, or at least is difficult to change. Usually an e-book is in a PDF format. Full length books are being converted to e-books and sold on the internet. People are creating e-books for training tools or for selling information that has value.

Information Is The Perfect Product For Online Marketing

Information is the perfect product because
1. It is easy to produce
2. It is inexpensive to produce
3. It is inexpensive to deliver
4. It is delivered quickly

Why do I want to create an e-book?

Here are some reasons why someone like you, a direct sales or network marketing consultant, may want to create e-books:
• You can use it to get paid to generate leads on the internet-This is really cool!
• Utilize an e-book to increase your database
• Utilize your e-book to increase your eBay score so that you are a more credible seller
• E-Books make excellent training tools for your team. They are easy for the team to duplicate the system by passing your e-book on to their new sales professionals.
• E-books keep material from being duplicated or someone else taking credit for your information
• E-books will establish your as an authority on a topic or an issue
• Create can create cash flow
• Establish your online credibility if you are getting involved in internet marketing
• E-books can be viral marketing when the value is great enough that people pass it on. You can embed links with in the file that bring the new recipient back to you as a customer.
• E-Books give beginners an opportunity to get involved in internet marketing without a big start-up cost. The experience will prepare you for bigger steps because you will become more experienced with new technology.

How do you make an e-book?

That is not the easiest question to answer. In the Spring of 2007 I conducted a two-part teleseminar series on E-Books. The recordings are a total of 118 minutes so I cannot sum it up here.

The first step in the creation of an e-book is to decide why you want to create one. On the list above, what is your purpose? The end result desired is going to have a lot to do with how you proceed. An e-book that is going to be sold on eBay and used to create a little cash flow as well as boost your eBay score will be very different than one used to train your team.

To sell an e-book, it is important that the buyer feels as though they got a good value for the money they spent. When I sell and e-book on eBay I sell it for $4.75 and it is about 8-10 pages long and includes an hour long audio on the topic as well. If there is no audio, just an e-book, then I would recommend that the book be about 25-30 pages. Your material will have to be of value so that you are not stuck with a bunch of refunds.

FoodSmart Comfort Cooking E-Book

It is a nice e-book, but if I sold it to people for $4.75 most likely I would get many requests for refunds. One of the e-books that I sell on eBay that has better value is this one:

Pump-UP Your Calendar Talking E-Book

You can see that this e-book has at least a value of $4.75 if not more. Do you think I should raise my price?

When creating an e-book to train your team, then you can decide what you want to put in it based on your training goals, and if you are giving it away, then it doesn’t matter how long it is as long as it serves its training purpose. Check out the Pump UP Your Calendar E-Book by clicking here. This is a powerful e-book that includes an hour long audio recording. I have also sold this one on eBay for $7.00.

After you decide why you are creating an e-book, then it is time to pick your topic and start writing. After you type your e-book, you convert it to a PDF file and then you can distribute it with no worries that it will change in transfer or that someone will steal it and call it their own.

There are many other details and technical options when creating your e-book, such as audio, embedding links, making it viral, selling it, selling the copy rights to it and more.
