Ideas For Home Party Plan Games

Games For Direct Selling Party Plan Shows

. The most popular topics that I ever get questions or requests about are BOOKINGS and GAMES. It seems like every direct selling – home party plan consultant wants more bookings and party game ideas! Read the full article to learn how to get your FREE electronic “talking” book of “Powerful Party Plan Games“!

Games Make Shows Fun

Have you ever put together a home party show presentation and wondered how you would create an interactive atmosphere? Getting people to interact at your shows is important to generate the fun factor. Home party plan games provide the perfect opportunity to get everyone involved. They are fun, interesting and can help to sell a product very quickly. If everyone is having fun at your party, chances are they won’t be so concerned with time which will give you the chance to recruit business consultants as well.

Icebreaker games are a great way for everyone to get to know one another. They can also provide valuable information in a light-hearted manner. You will host some parties where most of your guests will already be acquainted with one another. Other parties, however, will be full of people who have never met. There are a series of games that can be used to fit either occasion, but for the purposes of this article, we’ll assume that everyone at the party isn’t related to or friends with one another.

Icebreaker Games For Home Party

One great icebreaker game is called “Name and Number”. Upon arriving at the party, each guest is given an index card containing his or her name on one side and a number on the other. Guests are then required to wear the card with the name side showing. This will introduce everyone to one another. Guests are encouraged to make these introductions personally so that everyone will become acquainted with the various names. After a while, you can then request that your guests turn their cards over thus showing only the number. Everyone will then receive a piece of paper containing all the numbers. The object of the game is to fill in as many names as can be remembered beside the corresponding number.

Another fun home show game is called “I Hate”. Here, guests write down the chore they hate the most and accompany it with two reasons. Everyone is then required to read their statements, but there is a twist. The chore is to be replaced verbally by a word that is completely out of context. For example, the statement could actually read “I hate cooking. It takes too long and I always burn something in the process”. When read aloud, the word “cooking” could then be replaced with another to make the entire statement humorous. This is a fun game that will be enjoyed by the guests and will be certain to break the ice.

You can also choose to utilize party games to showcase what you are selling. Here, “Pass the Parcel” or a treasure hunt can be a lot of fun. The winner gets to keep the product which even adds to the fun. One word of caution, don’t let this type of game run on too long. You’ll know when it’s time to declare a winner and can then move on to something else.

The Scavenger Hunt Home Party Game

Posted by Deb Bixler

This home party plan game serves the purpose of getting higher show attendance.  Ask your host to go on a scavenger hunt for the following types of guests.  You can include a check list flyer and also a prize would be appropriate.

Someone who….

  • has two or more children
  • loves ice cream
  • goes to work everyday
  • has a birthday in July
  • is single
  • lives in your neighborhood
  • owns a XYZ product of your choice
  • hates to cook
  • has been to London or Washington D.C.
  • has 2 cats
  • hosted a Cooking Show last summer
  • is a Grand Mother
  • loves pizza
  • is a teacher
  • is going to college
  • is European
  • would be a great consultant
  • has only one dog
  • lives more than 20 miles away

The list can really go on for ever.  I recommend a list of 30-40 types of people.  The purpose is really to get the host to start thinking outside the box.  A wide variety of people usually means better show attendance because there is less chance that one event will over shadow the party.  Also, a wide variety of guests pretty much guarantees that you will have at least one big spender.

Games To Play At Home Party Plan Shows

The game of bingo for your home show party is a great way for the audience to get involved and also to increase your show average. When playing games at your shows, be sure that the game has a purpose for you…. more sales or create desire for shows or the opportunity to start a business… and also a purpose for the guest… fun!

This game gets people to start a list of the products that they would like to have someday. Any time you can start your customers on an action, it will most likely increase sales.  This is because one action creates momentum and leads to another action. It is similar to when you get the host, during host coaching, to start a list of who to invite — then you will not have as many cancellations because the action of creating a list of guests will lead to a call to invite them, and that will lead to the invitations going out. The act of creating a list of people to invite will generate action or start the ball rolling. The act of creating a list of what he or she wants to get may create momentum to start a list of who to invite. So at your show when you get your customers to start a list of what they want, you are putting the ball in motion for them to make purchases, become hosts, or even sign up to be a rep. The bingo game is designed to get the guests writing their wish list down.

A Game To Play At Direct Selling Parties – Bingo

Party Games The game of bingo is terrific to play at your shows. Here is how it works. On the back of the receipt, on a piece of paper, or whatever you choose to use, tell your guests to make a bingo card or two. They need to make a grid that is 5 X 5 spaces. You can have them make one or you can provide it.  Here is a blank bingo grid if you want to really get serious about this. Bingo Board Then explain how the game works. As the show goes on, they are to write down products they would like to get sometime or wish that they had. Ask them to write the product and the page number in one of the boxes for each product that they like throughout the show. The more on their bingo cards, the better chance they have of winning. Assure the guests that putting the products on the bingo card does not mean they have to buy it. Actually, the more bingo cards that they fill, the better the chance that they will win when we play bingo at the end of the show. So as you demonstrate and talk about products, guests write the wish list on their bingo card. The more products they have on their grid, the better chance that they will win. Remind them periodically so that they remember to play. At the end of the show, you will do a product wrap-up during the close. You can say, ”Ok we are just about done and so now turn your bingo cards over. Let’s play bingo for this product.” You do your wrap-up, doing a quick summary of each product, and they x it off on their bingo card as you do so. ‘This is the XX, no kitchen is complete without it, all hosts I ever did a show for had enough products to get the YYY for free, and the special ZZZ is perfect in every living room.’ You just keep talking about the products during the wrap-up and who ever gets bingo first wins your item. Finish the wrap-up, and take your orders. You can even check the back of the bingo cards as you tally your orders, as a way to cross or up sell. Or use a big wish list as leverage when asking about scheduling a show.

Games At Home Parties Must Create Value

The value in this direct sales game is that it creates desire for shows by creating a visual list for the guest as the show goes on. It gives them a way to remember what they were considering, informs you of their level of interest, and creates desire for hosting shows as well as the opportunity.  And it is fast-paced and fun. The value to the guest is that it is fast paced; keeping up with the show and not taking any extra time. If you cannot create a value for the guest with your show games, then you should not play games. Guests hate to be bored, so be sure that any game you play creates value for you – the sales consultant, for them – the party attendee, as well as for the host.

Home Party Plan Consultant Games

Posted by Deb Bixler

Of all of the requests that I get, the ones I hear most often are “how to find bookings” and “what kinds of home party games should I play” at my show. The question about scheduling shows is addressed frequently in the category of building business. Party Games are not really my thing. I always make sure that the game has value to all at the show. The category of party games includes several adaptations of games that I have heard sales professionals using. I always change them because I believe that if valuable show time is being used for game, then they really must serve two purposes. One purpose is fun for the guests and the other should be for the good of your business. The following game is one I am sure most of you have heard of before called “Ask Me About Making Money With YOUR Company”. I have added a new twist to it.

Home Parties – A Sharing Game

If you are not comfortable sharing your opportunity then this is a terrific game for you. This is how it works. You have a gift to give away. Either by issuing tickets or by using the gift and allowing the guests to pass it back and forth as they ask questions. Using a clock or timer, pick time frame. Not too long, maybe 2 minutes maximum. During this time ask the guests to do one of two things. They can ask you about your company and how you make money doing what you do, or they can tell you what they would do if they had and extra $125 per week coming into the household. If you are using the ticket approach, then everyone who asks a question gets a ticket for every question or income statement they make and at the end you do a drawing. If you are passing the item around the guests just pass it to who ever is sharing and when the timer rings or the time is up, that person keeps the gift.

Successful Home Based Business Strategies

Use what you learned during the game. A strategy is to create your games and shows in such a way that it gives you the information you are looking for.

The game will stimulate interest in your opportunity and give you information to use as your guests check out.

You can then say to those who asked about the vacations, “Where did you go on vacation last year?” “Would you be interested in more information about traveling for free with XYZ company?”

If someone said, “I would use the extra $125 to put the kids into private school? You may ask the guest during check out: “What school does your child go to now?” Why do you want them to switch schools?”

And so on, you can ease into your opportunity with benefits specific to their needs. Games at shows must be fun for the guests so be sure to keep them fast paced and short in duration. The value of the game to the guest is some fun, and to you it should have a business purpose as well.

Home Party Show Games

The Banana Game

Of all of the requests I get, I am most often asked for party games. I have never been a game person at my shows. It just isn’t me. The thing about games is that some people love ‘em and some people, like myself, don’t. So if you are a home party sales rep who loves games, make sure that your game serves two purposes. I modified The Banana Game to serve two purposes.

Home Party Game Value

• Fun For The Guest
• Generates Value To The Sales or Interest In Your Services
direct selling games

Order Your Home Party Game E-Book Only $7.00

I have changed this game a bit from the original version to give it more value. The most important aspect of this game is that it gives the host a good reason to call her guests a couple of days before the show. About three days out call the host and say that if she gets the ice cream and sprinkles you will bring the fudge topping and nuts. Ask her to call all the guests and ask each one to bring a banana. Tell her that you will play a game, then make banana splits. The host should not tell the guests about the game. Just use it as a good reason to give guests a call, remind them of the show, and “Don’t miss the banana splits!”. This gives the host a good guest count and also introduces a sense of fun and excitement about the show. You can use the game to generate interest in being a sales rep. Each guest will keep track of her/his points on the edge of the order form. Let the host read the poem and you can say the lines that are in parenthesis after each paragraph to help to create desire for your services. This will all make sense when you read the poem below.

Your host tonight is the judge,
And I brought the fudge,
We have toppings too,
To make a delicious dessert for you.

(Can you believe I get paid to do this!)

Now look at your bananas
And give yourself a 4
For having a banana with
10 spots or more.

Now if your banana is a vibrant green

(A new consultant makes about $100 vibrant green cash per show)

Give yourself a count of 16
And if yours is the longest one
Give yourself 21.

But let’s be kind
To the one most short
And give her 10 points
For being a sport

(Our host is so good at this poem-she could take my job!)

A yellow banana’s
the best to eat
It will give you 10 points
Which is a treat.

Now if yours is bruised,
Softened or brown,
Deduct 2 points,
What a letdown.

(I still can’t believe that I get paid to do this!)

The one who has the longest stem
Gives you easily another 10
But if your stem is tattered or broken
Take 2 points as a little token.

If it is a high score
You’re looking for
Then schedule a show
And give yourself 20 points more.

(I only have a couple dates left next month)

Now count your points
And add up the score
The one with the most
Is who we’re looking for.

Give the winner her/his prize and say: (Have you ever thought about doing what I do, I am sure you can come up with a better game than this!)

Fun Has Value

Don’t let the game drag on too long because the people like me who are not into games will probably get antsy with the process. If you make it funny and act it out in a silly manner you can keep it fun. Even when interspersing your opportunity lines overact it to the point of being funny and it will go funny.

There you have it. Another game for all of you home party game people. Make sure that your show games have value to your mission and to your guests’ mission. Value the time that they have invested in being there and keep it fun. Value your time and be sure to create desire for your product, opportunity, or hosting opportunity.
