3 Home Party Bookings Games

Posted by Deb Bixler

Home parties are becoming more and more popular, selling everything from kitchen accessories to jewelry. One of the reasons is that they provide a way to get several things done in one sitting, and all busy women are fans of multitasking, right?

Women are even more receptive to shopping and buying new things when they are comfortable, relaxed and enjoying themselves. Shopping is never fun when you’re stressed, overwhelmed and uncomfortable.

It’s up to the party plan consultant to make the party environment inviting and entertaining. Home party plan games are one way to set the stage for a successful party. Not only do they help guests get to know one another, they can help break the ice, introduce new products, and get guests active and involved.

Home Party Plan Fun Means Bookings

Fun is the key element at a home party so make sure that you can create fun and excitement with your games and they will surely aid in booking more shows. The more enthusiastic guests are, the more likely they are to purchase the products or book a show. It is all about FUN!

Below are three of the best home party plan games to try at your next party.

The Toilet Paper Show Icebreaker Game

party plan bookings show game This show game is sure to get your guests laughing and is a great icebreaker. Pass around a roll of toilet paper, and ask each guest to tear off a piece.

Don’t let them know what it’s for, and let them know that the piece can be as long as they would like.

When everyone has torn off some toilet paper, let them know that they will have to tell the other guests something about themselves for every square of toilet paper they are holding. This is a great way for the hostess and consultant to introduce themselves and talk about the benefits of working as a direct sales consultant.

Home Party Company Products On The Floor

Use this game to get guests involved and introduce some of the products. Ask guests to write their names and favorite product, and put them in a bowl. Place three or four small product prizes on the floor. Read off a name from the bowl. That guest can select a prize from the floor and explain why they love the product. After all the prizes are picked up, the next person whose name is read will have to take a prize from one of the guests holding it. After everyone’s name is read, the guests holding the prizes win.

This game is great for sales because the audience will believe their friends more than they believe you.

Roll Dice – Book Next Home Party

It is important to explain the game in advance so guests do not feel pressured to schedule a home party if they are not interested. They can choose not to play if they want. home party plan dice game

Part of the success of home parties is based on keeping the ball—or the dice, in this case—rolling and continually booking future parties. With this game, 11 numbered envelopes are set on a table. One has a card in it that says “Grand Prize.” The others have an option to either win a prize or book a show. Decide beforehand what the grand prize and other prizes will be and let the guests see what they can win if they roll the number that corresponds with one of those envelopes. Each guest will roll the dice and pick up the corresponding envelope.

Anyone who received a “Book a Show” envelope can schedule the next show with the party plan consultant before leaving that night. Gambling is always fun. Guests will be excited about the possibility of winning a prize, and the consultant will be sure to line up several more parties.

Home Show Games For FUN and BOOKINGS!

If you play games at your home show make sure they are FUN for the guests and serve a purpose for you, the consultant.

If you do not get bookings, increase sales or find new consultants as a result of playing games then do not waste your time doing them.

Games must be FUN for the guests or they will be counter productive!

2 Direct Sale Show Games to Increase Bookings

In the direct sales industry, getting show bookings for shows is crucial to your success. If you don’t have shows booked, you don’t make any sales; if you don’t make any sales, you don’t earn any money. Many people end up quitting their direct sales job because they can’t get enough bookings each month. Some are too timid and others just don’t know how to go about getting more people to book a show. Home party plan games work great for almost any show, no matter what you are selling. Try a home party plan game at your next show and watch your bookings increase.

The Deal or No Deal Party Game:

For this game you will allow guests to choose an envelope (or jewelry box or other appropriate container) which contains a prize. Guests will each take one, prior to learning how the game works, and then have the chance to take the deal and open the envelope or not do the deal and hand it back to you after learning how the game works. Make up enough envelopes so everyone can take one and fill about two-thirds with a prize plus a paper stating “host a fun-filled (company name) show with me!” The prizes can be a free shipping coupon, $25 off your order, or a coupon for a free item. Tell the guests that the only rule is that if they do the deal they must honor the prize and that you will also honor it. You could easily get two or three bookings from a 15-guest show with this home party plan game.

Ribbon BOOKINGS Show Game:

I kind of like this bookings game for jewelry shows. Tie three ribbons on your host’s wrist (or you could use jewelry) and tell the guests that for each show booked tonight, the host will get to remove one ribbon. If all three are removed the host gets a special gift. Guests will be excited to see if they all get removed and are more likely to book a show if their friend gets a prize.

1 Weird Home Party Plan Show Game

Posted by Deb Bixler

I often get requests for home party plan games to play at shows. Since I have never been one to play games I like to fine tune and elaborate on other games that I hear of. This one had me laughing (really LOL) while I wrote the post and found weird items to post with it! If your company does not have any really weird products then you can find some like this to bring to your show and play the game as an ice breaker.

Many home party plans, especially those that sell kitchenware and plastic goods, have unusual accessory items as part of the inventory. These items are often very useful, but may not be recognizable to those who have not seen them before.

You knew that the item to the right was an hors d’oeuvres tray, right?!

Good examples of such items might be a device that holds both butter and salt for applying to an ear of corn, an oddly-shaped grill scraper or an unusually-styled egg cup, or even a pickle shaped band aid.

Playing the Home Party Plan Game

home party plan game To play the game, the consultant should bring a collection of 6 or 8 items that have a specific use, but that may be hard to identify by simply looking at them like the avocado slicer/masher to the left.

Everything should be kept completely out of sight in a small box or bag until it is time for the game to start. Gather the group together in one area, get everyone seated, and be sure to have everyone’s attention before proceeding.

To play, the hostess closes her eyes and selects one item from the container. She holds it up for all the attendees to see. She must then give the item a descriptive name and tell the group what it is for and how it is used. The group votes on whether or not the hostess was right in her description of the item. The consultant will validate the group’s vote. If the guess was wrong, the item passes to the next player, who will then create a new name for it and describe a new use for the item in question.

direct sales party game If she was right, she gets to pass the item to others to look at and the person to her right chooses a new item from the bag and the play begins again.

Would you have guessed that the finger to the right is a nose hair trimmer?

This continues until all the items are gone from the bag. If the guests are struggling with identifying any of the items, the consultant can offer hints to help them out. If you want to give any of your weird items away then that can be incorporated into the game too.

Unless a person has seen the accessory before, her guess and description of the item in this home party plan game will almost always be wrong. Players often get very creative with their item names and descriptions.

For that reason, this is a good choice for an icebreaker show game, as everyone starts the party laughing and having fun. It helps people to see unique and useful gadgets that they might otherwise overlook in the catalog, and sales of the accessories used in this game are often quite high.

When you incorporate fun party games into your show make sure that they provide value for all involved.

Home Party Plan Door Prize Game

Posted by Deb Bixler
Home parties are the bread and butter for direct sales representatives and the staple of many home parties is the direct sales party game. Some people play games at their home shows and others do not.

Party games should keep the guests entertained, engaged, and interested in the products and can lead to increased revenue for home consultants.

Unfortunately, coming up with ideas for games that serve a purpose and are fun can be difficult. Often times the result is a boring game! If you are a party plan consultant who likes to play games at your shows you can find more home party plan games in other articles on the site.

The Pick-a-Paper Door Prize game is a fun game that can be customized to fit any business. All sales consultants whether you sell candles, makeup, and home products are sure to find a way to use this game for all of your businesses!

Preparing “Door Prize” Home Party Game

In this game the basic concept is that everyone at the home party show gets a door prize.

  1. Pick an inexpensive product that can be passed among the guests; for example, makeup consultants could use eyeliner pencils and kitchenware representatives could use unique straws. Use something that you are willing to give away to guests as party favors, and have enough for each guest to take one.
  2. Make several folded notes with “prizes” for each guest. Some ideas are: 10% Off Today’s Order, You Win a Free Product, You Win a Party, Buy One Product Get One Free, Win a _____ with Today’s Order, etc. Tie these notes onto the party favors.
  3. Arrange the completed party favors in a container that can easily be passed among the party guests.

Playing the Door Prize Game At Show

Explain to the guests that these are their party favors or door prizes and there are some great prizes to win. You can tell them that each prize must be used, and they must be willing to use the prize that they win if they take a card.

  1. Pass the container around to the guests, and let them either choose a product with a card or pass on the chance to get the free product and win a prize.
  2. Have guests open their cards and explain to them what they’ve each won.
  3. Book any parties that the guests have won, give out free products, etc. and offer second chances to anyone who didn’t take a product.

Advantages Of This Direct Sales Game

All games that are played at a  direct sales show should have an advantage for the guests, the host and for you the consultant. In this case the quests get a free gift and hopefully it is FUN!

This direct sales party game should help you book future parties because any guests who win parties would supposedly have to book one as the result of taking the free product.

The host will benefit from this game because all her guests get a door prize and it could increase sales. Order discounts, “Buy One Get One” offers on products not normally selected, and free gifts with purchase can encourage party guests to buy items they hadn’t intended on buying.

When you incorporate fun home party plan games into your show make sure that they provide value for all involved.
