Games To Play At Home Party Plan Shows

The game of bingo for your home show party is a great way for the audience to get involved and also to increase your show average. When playing games at your shows, be sure that the game has a purpose for you…. more sales or create desire for shows or the opportunity to start a business… and also a purpose for the guest… fun!

This game gets people to start a list of the products that they would like to have someday. Any time you can start your customers on an action, it will most likely increase sales.  This is because one action creates momentum and leads to another action. It is similar to when you get the host, during host coaching, to start a list of who to invite — then you will not have as many cancellations because the action of creating a list of guests will lead to a call to invite them, and that will lead to the invitations going out. The act of creating a list of people to invite will generate action or start the ball rolling. The act of creating a list of what he or she wants to get may create momentum to start a list of who to invite. So at your show when you get your customers to start a list of what they want, you are putting the ball in motion for them to make purchases, become hosts, or even sign up to be a rep. The bingo game is designed to get the guests writing their wish list down.

A Game To Play At Direct Selling Parties - Bingo

Party Games The game of bingo is terrific to play at your shows. Here is how it works. On the back of the receipt, on a piece of paper, or whatever you choose to use, tell your guests to make a bingo card or two. They need to make a grid that is 5 X 5 spaces. You can have them make one or you can provide it.  Here is a blank bingo grid if you want to really get serious about this. Bingo Board Then explain how the game works. As the show goes on, they are to write down products they would like to get sometime or wish that they had. Ask them to write the product and the page number in one of the boxes for each product that they like throughout the show. The more on their bingo cards, the better chance they have of winning. Assure the guests that putting the products on the bingo card does not mean they have to buy it. Actually, the more bingo cards that they fill, the better the chance that they will win when we play bingo at the end of the show. So as you demonstrate and talk about products, guests write the wish list on their bingo card. The more products they have on their grid, the better chance that they will win. Remind them periodically so that they remember to play. At the end of the show, you will do a product wrap-up during the close. You can say, ”Ok we are just about done and so now turn your bingo cards over. Let’s play bingo for this product.” You do your wrap-up, doing a quick summary of each product, and they x it off on their bingo card as you do so. ‘This is the XX, no kitchen is complete without it, all hosts I ever did a show for had enough products to get the YYY for free, and the special ZZZ is perfect in every living room.’ You just keep talking about the products during the wrap-up and who ever gets bingo first wins your item. Finish the wrap-up, and take your orders. You can even check the back of the bingo cards as you tally your orders, as a way to cross or up sell. Or use a big wish list as leverage when asking about scheduling a show.

Games At Home Parties Must Create Value

The value in this direct sales game is that it creates desire for shows by creating a visual list for the guest as the show goes on. It gives them a way to remember what they were considering, informs you of their level of interest, and creates desire for hosting shows as well as the opportunity.  And it is fast-paced and fun. The value to the guest is that it is fast paced; keeping up with the show and not taking any extra time. If you cannot create a value for the guest with your show games, then you should not play games. Guests hate to be bored, so be sure that any game you play creates value for you - the sales consultant, for them - the party attendee, as well as for the host.

Think And Grow Rich: Napolean Hill - Direct Sales Inspiration

July 9th, 2008 . by Deb Bixler

Direct Sales Leaders Use “The Secret” & “Think And Grow Rich”

The book by Napoleon Hill, Think and Grow Rich, is my business and personal guideline for life. I love it. One of the best-selling self-help books ever written, it hit the press during the Great Depression. With millions of people out of work and a war on the horizon, Napoleon Hill’s philosophy gave people hope and inspiration that life could get better. The philosophy of the book is the same information presented in the “The Secret” which is a popular book today. Direct sales leaders in all companies are putting the philosophy of The Secret into action in their businesses and using the concepts to achieve success. I love both books.

Law Of Attraction

Using the power of positive attraction, and living a life of gratitude as an inspiration for life is the key to success in any business. I just found this video of Napoleon Hill sharing about his philosophy in Think And Grow Rich on YouTube and thought I would post it here for all to enjoy.

Creates Curiosity

  1. Legitimate Valid Business Reason
  2. Creates Curiosity
  3. Creates a Sense of Urgency
  4. It Is Personalized

It is important to have a well scripted message, and just winging it doesn’t usually work. Check out Jeff’s scripting tool here.

Technology Impacts Home Business Sales Consultants

One of the advantages of living in the 21st century is technology. This is a double-edged sword — it can be a good thing, and it can be a bad thing. Check out the previous post on the impacts of technology on communication in home businesses. Click Here

Create Voice Mail Scripts - Don’t Let Technology Hold You Back

  • Never open the door to cancellations by using the word cancel.
  • Always assume that it is a done deal. (whatever IT is)
  • Never use vague or negative word choices such as: If, might, could, should, worried, wondering
  • Replace those words with positive words and phrases: when, do, will.
  • Always smile, stand up and be excited.
  • Take joint responsibility by using phrases like: “When we (send out the invitations, invite 40 people, etc.)”, “Our goal is______”.

Taking the time to create powerful positive voice mail messages will open the door for future connections and assist in better home business communications. When you leave no message, you will never connect. When you leave a powerful message, you have a much better chance of getting a return call.

3 Steps On How To Start A Website

June 25th, 2008 . by Deb Bixler

Start A Home Business Blog Website

All companies should take advantage of the networking available on the internet, direct sales professionals included. I have received many inquiries lately on how to start an online presence or a blog. When I started my home business, I did not even own a computer and did not use one at work much either. Today, I can build a website and am darn close to being a search engine expert. It is a process, and like any other process, the more you work at it, the more you learn. At first it was very slow. If I had I known then what I know today, my business would have skyrocketed. The ongoing changes and advancements in technology have created so many exciting opportunities for direct sellers and party plan professionals. The internet allows you to branch out and no longer limits your business to friends, family and neighbors. Even if you are a total computer/web novice like I was, just take small steps one-day-at-a-time and before you know it, you will be writing code!

Start A Free Website

  1. Set Up A Personal Website: It is easy to start your own website. Your company probably has an affiliate site in your name. You can still set up your own. When you create an online presence by having a website highlighting your “theme” or services, it will enhance your personal affiliate site as well. One way to get started on a website for free is at Wordpress. It is a very user-friendly, blogging format that anyone can use. (really, anyone!) My blogs are Wordpress. The free version is a good place to start. You can upgrade later. Blogging is a good way to develop traffic to your site and become a presence online and there are hundreds of free theme templates to choose from. Literally, in an evening you could have your site up and running.
  2. Get Your Own Domain: The Word Press URL will be something nutty, like wordpress.com/alice234-h and you will not want to tell that to people, so buy a domain name that is unique to you. Something like: AliceIsCool.com It is only about $10 year and you can then forward it into your free Wordpress blog. Later when you are ready to host a site, you already have the traffic and unique name.
  3. Blog: On a regular basis, post articles on your blog on your topic. If you sell food storage containers, your blog focus may be on organizing your kitchen, on food, or any/or all other related topics. If you sell cosmetics, the focus of your blog is to develop a credible online presence as an expert who is there to answer any makeup question that is ever Googled. These articles need to be put up consistently, but not a lot at once. Like maybe one or two a week forever. After you have a good archive, you can cut back a bit.

• Word Press Blog Service FREE : http://wordpress.com/

• Buy a domain very economically at GoDaddy on the Business Resources Page

This is a good start. In the coming months I will post some other articles on how to get traffic to your site and start collecting a data base. The first step is to get started! One small step for you and one giant step for your business. After all, the world wide web is the largest network marketing organization in the world. If you have any questions, just shoot me an email. Deb(at)DebBixler.com
