Direct Sellers Don’t Sell Stuff!

Direct sales consultants do not sell stuff!

You sell products, services and value!

As a direct seller you should have more respect for your company and product line than to call it STUFF!

What Is Stuff?

The dictionary defines ‘stuff’ as a noun –

  1. The material out of which something is made or formed; substance.
  2. The essential substance or elements; essence…
  3. Informally:
    a. Unspecified material: Put that stuff over there.
    b. Household or personal articles considered as a group.
    c. Worthless objects.
    d. Slang-specific talk or actions: Don’t give me that stuff about being tired.

You Don’t Sell Stuff!

At a recent training event I worked with a leader who continually used the word stuff when referring to the product line.

You do not sell stuff!

You sell:

  • Quality Kitchen Tools
  • Natural Cleaning Solutions
  • Family Friendly Candles
  • Easy To Use Spice Blends
  • Makeup For All Ages
  • Books That Cultivate Readers

The next time you hear yourself using the word stuff when referring to your products, correct yourself and tell it like it is!

Whether you are talking with your team or with your customers, call your products what they are!

Not: When you sell more stuff…

Yes: When you sell more candles…

Not: The more your sales are the more free stuff you get…

Yes: The more your party sales are, the more quality kitchen tools I can give you for free!

When you have more respect for your product line so will your family, friends, party guests, customers and team!
