How To Stop Being Nervous

A recent Facebook question from Terry Miller asked:

Deb I have a big party coming up tomorrow….
There will be lots of guests who have the potential to be consultants and/or future hostesses.
I’m very nervous. I want to do really well and get a lot of momentum to add hostesses or team members.
Any general words of encouragement or advice?

Deb’s FB Answer Re: Stop Feeling Nervous

The best I can offer is that nervous and excited are the same body reaction but one is positive and the other is negative.

Stop saying you are nervous and start saying: I AM EXCITED!

Shift your mindset to the positive and focus on what you do well and have some fun!

You know how to do the party so embrace the excitement as it is a natural feeling that is good!!

How To Stop Being Nervous When Presenting

Often new party plan presenters, or even seasoned reps, will be nervous for their first party or with a big crowd.nervous

When you feel that sensation coming over your body make a decision to call it excitement!

When you are excited you are having fun!

This simple mind shift will calm your nerves and allow you to present a better show, get more bookings, and develop relationships that may turn into team members.

Everyone LOVES to do business with excited consultants. When you are excited you will attract more people to your business!

When you feel that way, instead of saying “I am nervous!” start saying the opposite of nervous which is positive: “I am really excited!”

Great advice, Deb! It’s taken me a long time to really understand how important mindset is, and I can see how this a great way to use it well.
